Nestorius, fikirleri nedeniyle hem Ortodoks Bizans'tan hem de Katolik Papalık'tan afaroz yemiştir. Nestor'un öğretileri; Nesturilik, Keldaniler gibi diofizit Asuri kiliselerin kurulmasına yol açmıştır.
